I have been very naughty this season not updating my blog the way I should...I know I know. Also I haven't been returning emails as quickly as normal. I have been feeling sickish for the past two weeks and are finally feeling like myself. So I will be answering those emails here. The main thing I have been getting asked via email is how I started out and made my business work. Well first of all I feel under qualified to answer this but I thank you all for you kind inquiries anyway : ) Thats not an easy question to answer because there is soooo much! So lets start at the very begining. The biggest thing is to learn your camera and your equipment and to make sure you have a decent camera in the first place. I started out with a Canon Rebel Xsi and once I made enough revenue I purchased a higher grade camera and more lenses. It's OK to start off with your kit lens in the beginning but sooner or later (and hopefully sooner) you will need to get a faster lens. So far my favorite lens are 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8, 24-70 and for you wedding go getter's the 70-200 2.8 IS. The 50 and 85 are pretty reasonably priced around $300-$400 each. So first things first: learn that camera try, another lens (rent first if you can) and start building a portfolio!
I will be answering all the questions from emails on my blog from now on. I just don't have enough time to answer in full length all of them even though I would love too : ) Hopefully this will help so check back!!
